ISO Standard Sizes

ISO 216 is the international standard by which paper size is defined. It incorporates the A and B series of paper sizes, including the most commonly used paper size in the world today – A4. The underlying principle behind ISO 216 is that when folded in half parallel to its shorter side, any piece of paper conforming to the standard will retain its original aspect ratio of 1:2.
