Architectural Sizes

As well as the ANSI series, there is also a corresponding paper size series that is used for architectural purposes. As with both the ANSI and ISO 216 sizing series’, sheets from this architectural series can be folded in half parallel to the shortest side to produce the next size down in the series. This paper sizing series is preferred by North American architects because the aspect ratios of 4:3 and 3:2 are ratios of smaller integers than their ANSI and ISO 216 counterparts.
